Orange County Fire Charities is a 501(c)(3) organization created to help other non profits in Central Florida. Administered by firefighters, its philanthropic efforts are aimed at the causes community firefighters care about including cancer awareness, pediatric illnesses, and MDA.

On Saturday May 9, 2015, 25 of Central Florida’s fittest firefighters competed for a chance to secure their spot in the inaugural 2016 Professional Firefighters Calendar. The competition, hosted by Orange County Fire Charities, was held Saturday, May 9, 2015, at 8 p.m. at The Abbey (100 S. Eola Drive). Proceeds benefited the United Way.

“This is a great opportunity for hardworking firefighters to showcase their commitment to health and fitness with a fun event that benefits United Way charities in our community,” said Kathy Argabright, chairperson of Orange County Fire Charities.

The event featured catered food, desserts and specially-themed cocktails, live music and 25 professional firefighters strutting their stuff for a live audience. Celebrity guest judges (including The Daily City's own Mark Baratelli) scored the contestants on physical fitness, personality/showmanship, overall appearance and audience response.

“Our community loves its firefighters,” said Argabright. “Attending is a wonderful way for citizens to show their support of firefighters and make a difference for charities in Central Florida.”
